Delivery Information



All orders received before 12pm will be booked in for delivery with our courier or posted through Royal Mail the same day.

There will only be one delivery charge per order.

Delivery charges are calculated depending on size and weight of the item or items.  To confirm exactly what the delivery cost is for an item, please contact our us directly call 01434 382534 within opening hours or email and we will be more than happy to help.


UK Highlands and Islands and outside of the UK

For all deliveries Highlands and Islands and outside of the UK, a surcharge will be applied to postcodes representing the UK Highlands & Islands.  Please call us on 01434 382534 before you order.  We will try to find the best quote possible and then contact you to inform you of any additional charges that would need to be paid.

Overseas delivery

We can deliver overseas, and will offer a quotation at cost. Please contact us by email for a quote with the details of your order and its destination.

Important Delivery Information

Market Cross Alston have our own specialist delivery van and a very experienced delivery team.  We always take the utmost care when delivering furniture into your home.  To keep delivery cost to a bare minimum we do not insure for damage when items are being removed from our vehicle into your home.  Fortunately we have not had a single mishap to date.  However  it is vital for us both that we understand what to expect from each other when it is time for your delivery.

Our delivery van is a large Luton type vehicle.  Please make us aware of any difficulties we may have for example stairs/steps, or long pathways.  Remove any ornaments lamps etc that could get knocked over and take down any pictures from narrow hallways or staircase.  Protect carpets with old rugs or blankets as our delivery team are required to wear safety shoes at all times.  

Terms and conditions of delivery

Furniture Access

Large pieces of furniture are sold with the agreement that the item will fit into the customer’s chosen destination.

It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that the item they are purchasing will fit through the access doors, corridors and into the chosen room.

If it is apparent upon delivery that the item will only fit into the property with great difficulty, the delivery team will inform the customer of their concerns. If the customer still insists the delivery will be attempted.

Market Cross Alston is not liable for any damage to the item or property which may occur during delivery. If damage does occur to the item being delivered, we can give advise and help to find a solution to repair the damage, but this will be at the customer’s cost.

Customer agreement

I (the customer) understand that Market Cross Alston may make deliveries to a room of my choice, garage or outbuilding at customer’s risk only.  Market Cross Alston or anyone employed by Market Cross Alston accept no responsibility whatsoever for damage resulting from such deliveries. This includes, but is not limited to,  driveways, and paths, walls, fencing, gardens and lawns, all interior walls, flooring, carpets, ornaments, furniture, wall art or paintings, doors, door frames, windows or any other glass.  By requesting us to make delivery you are giving Market Cross Alston permission to deliver inside the curb line.

When requesting the delivery vehicle to come onto private property and the delivery team into your premises, I the customer agree to all of the above terms and acknowledge that any damage incurred during this delivery is my responsibility and NOT the responsibility of market Cross Alston or any of it’s employees.
